چکیده
We introduce an effective 2-dimer tight-binding model for the family of Shastry-Sutherland models with geometrically tunable triplon excitations. The Rashba pseudospin-orbit coupling induced by tilted external magnetic field leads to elementary excitations having nontrivial topological properties {\pi}-Berry flux. interplay between in-plane and out-of-plane thus allows us effectively engineer band structure in this bosonic system. In particular, gives rise Berry curvature hotspot near bottom band, at same time significantly increases critical band. calculate explicitly experimental signature thermal Hall effect triplons SrCu2(BO3)2, show a pronounced tunabled transport signals within accessible parameter range, particularly change sign conductance. is also useful reducing bandwidth lowest it can be flexible theoretical platform correlated

متن کاملExact solution of the spin - 1 / 2 Ising model on the Shastry - Sutherland ( orthogonal - dimer ) lattice ⋆
A star-triangle mapping transformation is used to establish an exact correspondence between the spin-1/2 Ising model on the Shastry-Sutherland (orthogonal-dimer) lattice and respectively, the spin-1/2 Ising model on a bathroom tile (4-8) lattice. Exact results for the critical temperature and spontaneous magnetization are obtained and compared with corresponding results on the regular Ising lat...
متن کاملTheory of magnetization plateaux in the Shastry-Sutherland model.
Motivated by the remarkable properties of SrCu2(BO3) 2 in a magnetic field, we use perturbative continuous unitary transformations to determine the magnetization plateaux of the Shastry-Sutherland model, unveiling an unexpected sequence of plateaux progressively appearing at 2/9, 1/6, 1/9, and 2/15 upon increasing the interdimer coupling. We predict that a 1/6 plateau should be present in SrCu2...
متن کاملLocal physics of magnetization plateaux in the Shastry-Sutherland model.
We address the physical mechanism responsible for the emergence of magnetization plateaux in the Shastry-Sutherland model. By using a hierarchical mean-field approach, we demonstrate that a plateau is stabilized in a certain spin pattern, satisfying local commensurability conditions derived from our formalism. Our results provide evidence in favor of a robust local physics nature of the plateau...
متن کاملMagnetization plateaux in an extended Shastry-Sutherland model
We study an extended two-dimensional Shastry-Sutherland model in a magnetic field where besides the usual Heisenberg exchanges of the Shastry-Sutherland model two additional SU(2) invariant couplings are included. Perturbative continous unitary transformations are used to determine the leading order effects of the additional couplings on the pure hopping and on the long-range interactions betwe...
